FIX THE WORLD Centres are being established worldwide to promote biologist Jeremy Griffith’s breakthrough explanation of the human condition and its role in addressing and resolving global crises. Located across Australia, Asia, Africa, Canada, Europe, New Zealand, South America, the UK and the USA, these volunteer-run centres provide an important hub for shared learning, discussion and fellowship among individuals appreciative of Jeremy’s world-fixing insights.
The founder of Pakistan’s FIX THE WORLD Centre is Shahid Masud.
Shahid served for four decades as a Deputy Medical Officer in rural health centres, retiring from the Government Health Department in 2019. Alongside his public service, he ran evening clinics in under-resourced communities, providing medical care at reduced cost to those most in need.
A published author, he has written three books in Urdu that draw on his extensive experience in the medical profession and reflect his commitment to public education and service.
Born in the small town of Gujar Khan in Punjab’s Rawalpindi District, Shahid is married with three children and is fluent in Punjabi, Urdu and English.
“Jeremy Griffith’s work allows us to escape Plato’s dark cave of denial and step into the healing sunshine of understanding the human condition. After reading FREEDOM or engaging with THE Interview, the door to freedom is opened, energising human love and enabling a journey from dystopia toward utopia.”

Thank you for letting me to join you at the platform of FIX THE WORLD (formerly the World Transformation Movement). It is an honour for me.
My name is Shahid Masud. I am living in Pakistan. I have three children — two daughters and one son. I retired from a government job as a Medical Assistant and Deputy Medical Officer in 2019. I am 64 years old [in 2026].
In rural areas, health units were being built, but there was no staff and we were trained for that purpose, not only as a paramedic, but also to diagnose and treat patients. Many times during my service, I thought: Why we are so aggressive? Why we are so cynical? Why we are so alienated? Why we are so possessive? But, on the other hand, vice versa also, we are very loving, we are very caring, we are selfless, constructive. We are optimistic. These questions were not answered from my heart, from any other person, any religion.
Time passed and passed.
One day, this smartphone was given to me by my son. He said, “You are just in olden days, old days, why you are not using smart phone?” and he gave me this gift. Then I started to see and one day, perhaps at night, I opened YouTube. I watched THE Interview about human condition.
What human condition? What is the human condition?
THE Interview of Jeremy Griffith is by Craig Conway, who is an actor and broadcaster. I watched THE Interview, but, sorry to say, this interview passed above my head. Then the other day, I started to read the transcript because THE Interview was an audio and in an accent I did not grasp. Therefore, I read the transcript of THE Interview. My brain was activated and stimulated after reading this transcript. It was fascinating and fantastic!
What human condition? What is the human condition? A conflict between good and evil. Jeremy says, “Humans are egocentric, selfish, alienated and aggressive.” Previous great philosophers explained this human condition as being a result of a ‘savage instinct’. But may I call Jeremy Griffith a leader? Jeremy Griffith said it is a psychological troubled condition of humans. Jeremy Griffith, I thought, is not only a biologist, but he is the encyclopedia of the world. He knows well biology, psychology, environment, poetry, philosophy. He knows Plato. He knows Shakespeare. He knows Isaiah.
Jeremy tells us that the conflict between good and evil started two million years ago when man became conscious. It is basically a psychological condition. We humans are actually cooperative, loving, selfless, which are moral instincts. It means our aggressive, competitive behaviour is not due to genetic or gene instinct, like other animals, but is due to our conscious mind. And this is the human condition. The ‘savage instinct’ explanation is just an excuse; as Jeremy says, “Emergence of our conscious mind caused us to fall from grace.”
During our pre-conscious era, humans were living a sharing a gentle life, sharing a gentle life, like bonobos also do [see Freedom Essay 21: How we acquired our altruistic moral conscience, which discusses the significance of bonobos in understanding our species’ development]. Plato gave this conscious era the name an innocent “Golden Age”, [in which we lived a] “blessed and spontaneous life” [where there was no] “quarrel”. No fear, no violence. Oh, bonobos, they’re just bonobos.
Jeremy, the great biologist, tells us that science reveals the conscious mind is driven by nerves, and instinct by genes. All the miseries in the world are due to human condition. The book FREEDOM: The End Of The Human Condition is the healing of the human condition, a great service to mankind from Jeremy Griffith. Great service.
It is a new discovery after Darwin’s Natural Selection. These are momentous moments of history.
Due to this conscious mind, we have turned utopia into dystopia. Amount of anger and upset is doubling in each new generation. We are going towards self-destruction. We are living through anxious days. Especially, I think we are now in the darkest era of the world. We humans are not bad, but we are going mad. And this madness can be cured by love. The book FREEDOM is the key to ending dystopia, epidemics, mental illness. It is the rehabilitation of the human condition, the human mind.
That is why I am very happy to join FIX THE WORLD (formerly the World Transformation Movement). You may allow me to call it family. FIX THE WORLD is just a botanical garden where hundreds of thousands of beneficial roses of different colours are blooming and growing. I think they are saviours of the world.
We are going through the road to love, selflessness, caring, and moral instincts, shown by the great Jeremy Griffith. Understanding the human condition is understanding humanity.
From THE Interview, and member’s observations from the FIX THE WORLD Facebook Group, I learned a lot. My service during the whole 40 years of my government job, and now still going on with interaction with people, I say a miserable condition is here. I try my best to give some relief to people. You should know that I am just an ordinary deputy medical officer, just not intellectual, not a well-educated person, just a small person who is going to love people, who is going to give relief to people.
I admit that I may done wrong also, because I am a man, I am also in the human condition. But my whole life I have helped more than I have wronged. I have loved more than I have hated. And I have cured more people than I have disregarded. And that is my life. But as Jeremy says, it is the darkest era of the world. And anger is up, up and up. It will take time for us, for a whole good human behaviour.
Jeremy has done a great work, a great work for humanity. Yes. That is why I salute Jeremy. And not only salute, but I love Jeremy also. Because, again I say, we are going through the road to love, selflessness, caring and moral instincts shown by the great Jeremy. These members of FIX THE WORLD, they are in a botanical garden where roses are blooming!
